Ryan Douglass
Fourth Year, Varsity Head Coach (10th Year Overall) The 2023-2024 season will be Coach Ryan Douglass's 10th season on the coaching staff and 4th season as the Varsity Head Coach. For the 2022-2023 season, the varsity team finished the season with a 16-10 record and reached the Elite 8 of the Massachusetts Division 2 Playoffs after beating #36 Duxbury, #4 Shepherd Hill, and #20 Walpole before losing to #5 Charlestown. For the 2021-2022 season, the varsity team finished with a 12-11 record. For the 2020-2021 season, the varsity team finished with a 10-1 record, winning the TVL-Large Championship. Coach Douglass was named TVL Coach of the Year. For the 2019-2020 season, the varsity team finished with a 22-3 record. For the 2018-2019 season, in his first season as a Varsity Assistant Coach, the varsity team finished with a 19-5 record and a TVL Large Championship. As the #4 seed, they beat the #13 O'Bryant Tigers in the opening round of the state tournament before falling to the #5 seed New Mission Titans in the 2nd round. Coach Douglass previously served 4 seasons as the program's Junior Varsity Head Coach. In his 4 seasons as JV Head Coach, his teams have a combined winning record. Along with Varsity Assistant Coach Patrick Harris, the two formed and manage the AAU basketball program New England Spartan Basketball and coach several teams throughout the Spring and Fall AAU seasons. He also created the Hoops for Troops Junior Varsity Classic. His prior coaching experience includes coaching AAU basketball at Mass Premier in Foxboro, Massachusetts. While coaching at Mass Premier, he coached a 9th grade team to become the Massachusetts State Champion Runner-Ups and receive an invitation to Nationals. He has also led that team to win several other AAU Tournament Championships in the area. Douglass graduated from Dean College with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Before Dean College, he attended Walpole High School where he was a member of the football and basketball varsity teams. |
