Dave Liebrock Twelth Year, Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Dave Liebrock has been a member of the Wolverine staff for 11 seasons. The 2023-2024 will be his 12th season on the staff, 6th as varsity assistant.
Liebrock joined the Wolverines staff for the 2010-2011 season as the head freshmen coach. After those first 5 successful seasons as the Head Coach of the Freshmen team, he became a full-time varsity assistant coach for the 2015-2016 season.
For the 2022-2023 season, the varsity team finished the season with a 16-10 record and reached the Elite 8 of the Massachusetts Division 2 Playoffs.
For the 2019-2020 season, the varsity team finished the season with a 22-3 record.
For the 2018-2019 season, in his first season as a Varsity Assistant Coach, the varsity team finished with a 19-5 record and a TVL Large Championship. As the #4 seed, they beat the #13 O'Bryant Tigers in the opening round of the state tournament before falling to the #5 seed New Mission Titans in the 2nd round.
For the 2017-2018 season, the Wolverines finished the regular season with a 10-12 record, earning them the #16 Seed in the Division II South Sectional Tournament. In the State Tournament, they won their opening round matchup at home against the #17 seed Walpole Rebels (80-61). In the second round of the tournament, the Wolverines fell to the #1 seed Tech Boston / Dorchester (88-44).
For the 2016-2017 season, Westwood finished the regular season with a record of 19-3. They were TVL Champions and earned the #2 seed in the Division II South Sectional Tournament. After having a bye in the first round, they beat #10 seed Foxboro at home in the 2nd round. They then lost their next game in the D2 South Semi-Finals to eventual D2 South Champions Whitman-Hanson.
For the 2015-2016 season, Westwood's varsity team finished the season with a record of 15-8. The team earned the #7 Seed in the Division II South Sectional Tournament, losing to Scituate High School in the first round.
In three seasons at the helm of the freshmen Wolverines, Liebrock has led his teams to a stellar 47-7 record.
He led the squad to an impressive 16-1 record in his first year at the helm. In his second year for the 2012-2013 season, the Freshmen capped off an undefeated season, finishing the year at 18-0. In the 2013-2014 season, Liebrock's Freshmen Wolverines finished with a 13-6 record.
Prior to joining the staff at the high school, Liebrock coached in the Westwood Youth basketball leagues.
Liebrock currently resides in Westwood with his wife, Lynne.
